Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk states in his sacred work, Noam Elimelech:

"Above all, one must guard oneself against intoxicating drinks, for it is a grievous affliction that brings a person to great degradation, as the Sages taught: 'Do not become intoxicated, and you will not sin.'" (Kedushat Noam Elimelech)

Many people are drawn to substances because of the temporary euphoria they offer, and individuals often feel great while under the influence. However, there comes a time when this short-lived pleasure inevitably leads to very dark, dangerous, and unknown places.

Recovery from addiction is entirely possible. Through our specialized program, you will work closely with experts, alongside inspiring spiritual mentors (Melamdim) devoted to bringing light into your journey. In a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment, this light will guide your path out of darkness and toward lasting recovery.

The Jewish Beis Midrash Program for Overcoming Addiction

Our program combines weekly sessions with a clinical psychologist and an in-depth study of the mind and the mechanisms of addiction. These sessions take place in a clinical setting. Today, more than ever, people are struggling with intense cravings and immediate, short-lived pleasures, giving little thought to their future.

Anyone with a spark of will to save themselves must act quickly and join us to break free from the cycle of negative desires and addiction. Through personal guidance, participants acquire the tools to cope with addiction while exploring essential themes like building self-worth and finding personal direction for true growth.

Our approach seamlessly integrates Torah values, Chassidut, and Jewish psychology. This program is designed for those ready to open up, communicate, and learn how to break the chains of addiction.

Through a profound, soul-stirring learning experience, we discover how to cultivate and fulfill inner love, fostering connection and mutual support. We examine how our pure desires can be hijacked by the Yetzer Hara (the evil inclination), creating cycles of negative pleasure that overshadow our natural yearning for a wholesome life. We will understand how an imagination controlled by addiction leads to spiritual and mental decline—all explored deeply through the lens of Torah wisdom.

Together, we will learn to build lasting self-esteem and confidence, discovering the unique professional and personal path destined for each individual—fully rooted in Torah principles.

OUR GENERATION: THE HEELS OF MOSHIACH

Today’s generation faces unprecedented challenges (Ikvetah D'Meshichah—the era preceding Moshiach). In a world where everything is intensely accessible for both good and bad, many fall prey to addictive pleasures and immediate gratification.

We have opened this program for anyone ready to break free from the cycle of addiction. We offer practical tools through personal counseling and deep study focused on self-worth, alongside personal and professional development—grounded in Judaism, Chassidut, and Jewish psychology.

Over the years, many have told us that conventional, rigid programs don't resonate with them. That is why we created a program that addresses the root causes of addiction through the depths of the Jewish soul.

The curriculum is built to empower anyone seeking transformation, drawing on the profound tools of Chassidut and the timeless wisdom of our greatest sages: the holy Ariza"l, the Baal Shem Tov, the Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh, the Beis Halevi, and others. We study the core issues directly related to the struggles and sensations of addiction, providing practical paths to recovery. Each participant will learn to connect deeply with his true self, restore his self-worth, and navigate daily life creatively and mindfully.

Our ultimate goal is to guide individuals out of the dead end of addiction using profound Jewish wisdom. The program features weekly sessions with psychologists specializing in addiction recovery. It is perfectly suited for anyone wishing to deeply understand the process of detoxification and healing, enabling them to help both themselves and others through the inner wisdom of the Torah. We emphasize an in-depth understanding of the underlying emotions and triggers, looking through the profound lens of Torah and Chassidut to dismantle the cycle of addiction.

THE CURRICULUM INCLUDES:

  • The Faculties of the Soul: We focus on the inner workings of the soul—pleasure (Taanug), will (Ratzon), desire, and the forces of positive versus negative imagination.

  • Breaking the Cycle: We analyze how our desires can be hijacked by negative thoughts until they feel completely out of control. Participants will learn how to reconnect with their authentic will, avoid falling back into negative cycles, and identify their core mental strengths.

  • Rebuilding the Self: We provide essential tools to resist triggers and rebuild the true self, backed by consistent support through clinical counseling.

  • Addressing Modern Challenges: Internet and digital addictions are a modern, painful epidemic. Our program directly addresses these widespread struggles, offering structured, step-by-step guidance.

  • Continuous Support: With expert psychological counseling, a supportive environment, and 24/7 availability for guidance—even outside program hours—we ensure no one walks this path alone.

Many traditional rehab centers isolate individuals from their regular lives. While the initial detox process is vital, the real challenge begins the moment they step back into the real world. Returning to the old environment often triggers immediate relapses. Preventing this requires a deeper, inner resilience. We know transformation is possible; many who overcame addiction are now thriving professionals, educators, and dedicated family men. True recovery demands a comprehensive approach that targets the root spiritual and psychological causes through personalized guidance.

HOPE AS A LIFELINE

The Maharal of Prague explains that the Hebrew word for hope, Tikvah, shares a root with Kav (a line). Without this lifeline of hope, a person faces Rikavona (decay)—leading to spiritual, and eventually physical, emptiness. A bridge between the present struggle and a meaningful future is critical.

Relapses often happen because a person loses hope. Substances, toxic relationships, or screen addictions offer no real hope; without hope, the drive to live fades. When healthy, meaningful pleasures are absent, deep pain sets in—the pain of depression, disconnected relationships, and a spiritual void. To avoid this pain, people numb themselves with temporary fixes.

Our mission is to restore that lifeline of hope, helping every participant achieve authentic self-realization and creative fulfillment.

Sincerely,
